Don’t Turn Around is a spine tingling tale of betrayal
and murder. It touches on topics such as Alzheimer’s
disease and Domestic Abuse. Two subjects that should
never even exist, but this author uses them in an unobtrusive
way that enlightens the reader but does not sermonize
each
issue.
Wonderfully written characters offer more than just their
names to the book; they also offer enjoyment, wisdom,
love, trust,
and a whole other roller coaster ride of emotions that
will make this a book you will not want to miss. Be prepared
for
many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge
of your seat.

The police label them "victims," but
she only sees them as depraved sinners. With each death, she rids
the world of another monster...but
not before offering them a chance to repent, atoning with
their agony for the evil they committed.

Delilah Swift is on a career and personal high--recently promoted

the chief of police, Snowden Callowey. But happiness turns to dread
when bodies surface in a local pond--all dead long before they reached
the water. Delilah knows the hallmarks of serial murders, and each
gruesome discovery points to a twisted psychopath growing bolder
and more brutal.

In this town full of secrets, a
cold-blooded killer is acting as judge and executioner. Anonymous
notes--harmless at first, then
increasingly sinister--appear in Delilah's mailbox. But the closer
Delilah gets to the truth, the higher the stakes. Because Delilah
has a secret of her own..and it could be the death of her...

Morgan's newest (after Unspoken Fear) focuses on
the small town of Stephen Kill, Del., where Det. Delilah
Swift is juggling the latest developments in her busy life:
new responsibilities as a detective, a secret affair with
her police chief and the troublesome niece she's been stuck
with for the summer. And then a serial killer strikes,
kidnapping residents of the sleepy town, letting them die
of dehydration and dumping them by a pond. As more victims
turn up, Swift scrambles to find the killer-who also has
an eye on her. Swift is a charming protagonist-strong,
smart and honorable-and the populace of Stephen Kill is
delightfully varied; Morgan excels at capturing the faces
of smalltown life and skillfully weaves domestic concerns
(teen pregnancy, etc.) among the taut threads of her murder
mystery. Though a "dark secret" plot device feels
familiar, a barrel of red herrings will keep readers guessing
throughout, and the surprising conclusion won't disappoint.

…Phenomenal is the first thing that topped
my lips after I finished this book. The driven force
of the characters, not just Delilah and Snowden, but
all the exceptional secondary characters that impart
a strong voice in this stunning novel are so in-depth,
that I felt a part of the investigation. As Rob was pacing
in the darkened room, with no water, and no way to get
out, in complete solitude, his trepidation seeped from
the pages. Even Snowden and his frantic search to find
Delilah while trying to stay calm, leaped from the pages.
Hunter Morgan paints an edge of the seat explosion that
comes with some intense nail-biting from this reader
until the last page. Brilliantly molded and shaped, this
is one roller coaster ride.

Hunter Morgan
has written another exciting thriller that sends
chills up
and down the readers’ spines
because almost anyone could be kidnapped and killed.
The heroine is
a multi-dimensional character who deals with several
problems at once and like normal people, not all
of them she handles
successfully. Though the probability of two serial
killers working Stephen Kill seems overwhelmingly
unlikely, readers
will believe in the validity of these murders. ARE
YOU SCARED YET is a must read for reader who love
romantic
suspense
police procedurals with the accent on the investigation.

is discovered, Rachel can't let go of a sickening sense
that the killer's twisted path is pointing in her direction.
And to stop the next slaying before it begins, Rachel will

Review, March 26, 2006,

A terrific thriller
"Rachel accompanied by her four year old daughter
Mallory arrives at the Sussex County Correctional Facility
to take home her former spouse Noah, who spent five years there
for vehicular homicide while driving under the influence. Noah,
an ex-priest, blames himself for his still beloved Rachel no
longer smiling while also pondering who the father of the little
girl is. His two children with Rachel are both dead.
Not long after Noah returns to the vineyard home of his parents where Rachel, Mallory, and idiot savant Mattie McConnell live, someone stones their neighbor Johnny Leger to death. Detective Chief Snowden Calloway and Detective Sergeant Delilah Swift believe Noah knows something about the homicide, but is not forthcoming with information. As they make inquiries, Noah wonders if he might be dangerous as he blacked-out at the time the murder occurred.
This is a terrific thriller that from the start has the audience wondering if a fallen angel is doing the killing yet with potential paranormal intervention, the tale holds together as a police procedural mostly from the perspectives of Noah and Rachel. The story line is fast-paced as Noah holds himself at fault for what happened especially as he sees the sadness of Rachel and how much Mattie displays he let him down too. The strong support cast keeps the thriller from collapsing into a maudlin serial killer second chance at love if he is not the culprit. Though at times over the top, especially with Azrael and the voice, fans will enjoy Hunter Morgan’s solid tale."

from Romantic Times Magazine
Here's more eerie suspense from rising star Morgan. With its theme of attempted redemption, the drama and its characters are realistic in their emotions and struggles. The suspense really crackles as the town and its inhabitants seem to be encased in a blanket of evil menace.
